Late Night
Hey everyone,
So last night we played the longest game that I have ever been a part of, and it only went 9 innings. I also witnessed one of the most ridiculous things that I have ever seen in pro ball. It was the top of the 5th inning and we were winning 1-0. There was an obvious storm on the horizon as it had already started raining. The opposing manager pulled his team off the field, and wouldn’t send them to the plate. He did so in fear of going 1-2-3 and the game being called official due to the storm. I have never seen something like that happen before, it was pretty heinous. So long story short, we sat through a 2 hour rain delay, and the game started back at 10 35. We finished the night with a walk off win, and Jason Delaney hit a game tying home run with 2 outs in the 9th. And the game finished sometime after midnight. All in all it was a crazy night.
Now just a quick write up on my last outing, and sorry it has taken so long but my girlfriend came to see me again. It was an unfortunately short visit, but it was really good to see her since it had been like 2 months since I saw her. So anyways, my last outing I gave up only 1 hit over 6 scoreless innings, and I really threw the ball well. I did have 4 walks, but they weren’t because I was necesarrily wild, but that I was making pitchers pitches. Perhaps even nibbling from time to time, which I try to stay away from for the most part. The main key to my success for this outing was my ability to pitch in. It has been something that I have struggled with the past couple of outings, and something that I have had to work on because teams now know that I am going to attack them alot with sinkiers. So it was reassuring to be able to attack them differently than I usually do and still have success.
Well that is all for now guys, I throw again on Friday in Akron, and should have another post some time shortly after that. Until then everybody take care.

Wow- I would be really impatient if that happened to me! I dont understand why the manager wouldn’t just let the game go, whatever happens, happens, right? Anyways, good job pitching. Some day you are bound to be pitching for a MLB team 🙂 http://tribechick.mlblogs.com/
I’m surprised the umps didn’t make the other team come out! I thought they were the ones to make the decision on calling a delay or not. Good luck on Friday!

Moskie,
I’m a high school baseball coach in the Pittsburgh Area (Belle Vernon). Myself and 3 of my sons, ages 12, 12 and 11, are heading to Akron this weekend to see you guys play. Gonna be at your start on Friday and also the Saturday game. This will be a first for us watching you guys.
The boys would love to meet you sometime over the weekend. We are staying at the team hotel. If that would be possible, hit me up with an email, a call or shoot me a text. We are all looking forward to this experience.
Good Luck,

tribe chick- We were definitely impatient with the whole situation. However, we came back after the delay and pulled out a close game. It was a very satisfying win.
Julia- The umps actually tried to do just that, but they wouldn’t send their players up to bat. The game was actually under protest by the umpires.
Dan- Thats really cool that you are coming all the way to Akron to see us play, and bringing the kids along as well. It makes me really happy to hear things like this. It will also be no problem to meet up with you and the kids at some point. It should be pretty easy since we are staying at the same hotel.

Moskie,
Enough to win tonight. Sucked you didn’t. Sitting behind the dugout made it hard to see how your stuff was. How was it? Santana is a stud, isn’t he?
The boys had a blast. They got many autographs, even yours, before the game. Would love to meet up with you tomorrow. Get in touch with me by my previous post if possible….or through the front desk…..or look for a tourist and 3 excitable kids….actually, they’ll probably see you first.
Take care and Good Luck tomorrow if the rain holds off.
